ODORO MOOD packaging won silver at NAPA Baltic 2019

Great news for ODORO brand: packaging design of ODORO MOOD home fragrances has been awarded silver at the NAPA Baltic 2019 Awards. These are annual awards of the best packaging design solutions within Baltic and Nordic countries. The NAPA Baltic Packaging Design Awards ceremony is held along with an exhibition of the selected best work. The aim is to assess high quality and innovative product packaging design and publicise the best examples to various professionals and to the wider audience as well. A total of 121 works were submitted to the competition, of which the jury selected 22 best packaging design solutions in 9 categories.

AWARD-WINNING DESIGN WAS CREATED BY THE FOUNDER

The colorful packaging design of the ODORO MOOD collection was awarded a silver medal in the OTHER category. Usually, in these types of events, award-winning works are created by design studios, large creative advertising agencies, in teams of designers. Contrary to other winners, ODORO is a family business whose founder Ernesta Doroškevičienė worked on every private label design herself. Impassioned by fragrances and design ODORO business is run by Ernesta and her husband Edward. 

“Since the launch of ODORO brand, we put lots of love, time, and effort into our products to serve a high level of satisfaction to our clients. All of our products are handmade using the highest quality materials coming from reliable partners and progressive fragrance houses. Attractive packaging is extremely important because it might be the first experience between the customer and our brand. Our intention was to create the packaging that clearly represents the idea of each fragrance that's inside the box,” - said Ernesta.

THOUGHTFUL DETAILS MAKE THE CHOICE EASIER

Many people associate reed diffusers with cozy home atmosphere. This idea is conveyed on the packaging design of ODORO MOOD collection as well. “Each color, design element, short descriptions, and text line was thoughtfully chosen in order to communicate the mood that each fragrance brings and the emotions it evokes,”- said Ernesta, founder and creative manager at ODORO.

EYE-CATCHING VISUALS

Different colors and graphic elements capture the essence of each aroma at the ODORO MOOD collection. Though, all the packaging shares the same aesthetic and unified design. Bright coloring, small details, and stylish typography spiced up with some glistening golden or silver colors. These visual solutions give each packaging a sleek feel. 

FRAGRANCES WITH MOOD

No one would argue that the most important thing while choosing a home fragrance is the scent itself. Wouldn't it be nice if you could take a smell right away? For this exact reason, a special window on the ODORO MOOD package was created. You can smell the pleasant aroma just by slightly lifting a cover of the package!

INCREASED SENSE OF TOUCH

Touching is one of the main senses with the power to create a more intimate relationship between a customer and a product. Stunning visuals might be the first thing to catch our attention. But the next thing we usually do is taking a product into our hands. A soft-touch laminate is used for ODORO MOOD packaging as well as nude decorative paper in order to increase the sense of touching.

INSPIRING DESCRIPTIONS

Short creative descriptions of each scent lie on the back of the product. ODORO brand talks to the client itself in a friendly manner: "I am dedicated for a home which...", "I promise". Each home fragrance of the ODORO MOOD series has its own unique description characterizing the essential ideas and emotions each fragrance represents.

“We hope that all these small details will help everyone to find their favorite aroma or to choose it as a gift for someone else,” - said Ernesta. 

CREATIVE WORK 

“Initially, we tried to create a design with the help of well-known packaging designers. But it always felt that the sketches did not reflect the mood of the scent the way we imagined. It encouraged me to take upon this task myself and make our creative vision come to reality,” - said Ernesta. It was quite a challenge without design education or years of experience in this field. But it seems that if you are determined to learn and constantly improve your work, it's possible to learn everything. “Behind this beautiful packaging that we see today, hides lots of time, effort, and a long creative process. Many different layouts have been tested and changes were constantly applied until we implemented the final design we see today,“ - said the founders of ODORO, - “After all the creative searches and hard work, we are so happy to be granted a notable silver award for our packaging design. This achievement is another inspiration for us to keep on moving with our work and improving even more.”

ODORO is a family business based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Impassioned by fragrances and design Ernesta and Edward say that scents are both their hobby and job. Ernesta is a Master of Marketing and a designer - she developed a series of ODORO reed diffusers. Working on every private label design Ernesta has also developed a strong relationship with printing and packaging partners. Edward has an EMBA degree and multiple years of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, and quality control. All the products are carefully handcrafted by a small ODORO team. The highest quality perfumes used in ODORO products originate from progressive fragrance houses of France and Germany.
